How Can Companies Build Trust With Employees During The Stages Of Reopening?
Updated: Jun 22, 2020
The key to building trust with your team during this time is to illustrate to your employees that you care about their safety and are taking the necessary precautions to keep them healthy in the workplace during this Covid-period. You need to give them confidence that you know the roadmap back, the ins and outs of how this virus spreads, and how you're going to keep your team safe while back at work.
It's more than simply restating the CDC guidelines or sharing a few links with your staff. You need to:
Reinforce your safety protocols each and every day, both in person, and through company created videos, safety manuals, and webinars.
Provide the proper PPE gear for every team member and have sufficient inventory to last for extended durations of time.
Have a team-leader in charge each day that serves as the point-person for all Covid-related questions/concerns/issues.
Overly communicate to these people that their safety is your top priority and without them, there is no business or clients to serve.
Communicate to your team your plans to get the business back on track and how you plan to rebuild trust and support from your clients and customers. If your team feels that you have a well-thought-out plan to regain market traction, they will go off unemployment and follow your lead.
